Who we are
A CLUB FOR CURIOUS MINDS AND BOLD VOICES.
The Moody Middle School Debate Club is a welcoming team for students in grades 6–8, including complete beginners. We explore three debate formats through weekly practice, discussion, research, and friendly competition.

Two teams of two debate a current issue. Partners prepare both sides, present evidence, question the other team, and respond together.

One student debates one student about a resolution built around values and big ideas. Each debater presents a case and answers the opponent directly.

Students simulate a legislative chamber. They give speeches, ask questions, and debate proposed bills and resolutions before voting.
